چکیده
To investigate the safety and clinical efficacy of bipolar radiofrequency ablation (b-RFA) with increased (> 70 °C) target temperature for treatment spine metastases intent achieving pain relief or local tumor control. Thirty-one patients a total 37 who were treated b-RFA vertebroplasty from January 2016 to May 2019 retrospectively included. There 20 women 11 men mean age 62.4 ± 10.5 (SD) years (range: 40–78 years). Patients characteristics, procedure details outcomes analyzed. Metastases predominantly located in lumbar (22/37; 59.5%) thoracic (13/37; 35.1%). Mean was 88.4 3.5 °C 70–90 °C). Technical success 100% (37/37 metastases). One (1/37; 2.7%) major complication unrelated reported. metastasis lost follow-up. Favorable outcome noted receiving management (16/20 metastases; 80%; follow-up, 3.4 2.9 [SD] months) oligometastatic/oligoprogressive disease (6/6 100%; 5.0 4.6 months). In prevent complications, favorable 6/10 (60%; 3.8 4.8 B-RFA has an excellent profile results high rates control disease. Suboptimal are achieved complications related growth index tumor.

Local Control by Radiofrequency Thermal Ablation Increased Overall Survival in Patients With Refractory Liver Metastases of Colorectal Cancer
Radiofrequency thermal ablation (RFA) is widely used for local solitary liver tumor control. However, the benefit of RFA for colorectal cancer with liver metastases, which is refractory to chemotherapy, remains unknown. We retrospectively enrolled 70 consecutive colorectal adenocarcinoma patients, who had synchronous liver metastases, who were refractory to chemotherapy, and whose life expectanc...

Radiofrequency facet ablation (RFA) has been performed using the same technique for over 50 years. Except for variations in electrode size, tip shape, and change in radiofrequency (RF) stimulation parameters, using standard, pulsed, and cooled RF wavelengths, the target points have remained absolutely unchanged from the original work describing RFA for lumbar pain control. Degenerative changes ...

Purpose. Our aim is to evaluate the results of treatment with computed tomography (CT) guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for osteoid osteomas which were localized in a difficult area for operation. Materials and Methods. Glenoid, distal tibia, humerus shaft, proximal humerus, and in third finger of the hand proximal phalanx were involved in one patient. Proximal femur was involved in ...

متن کاملTreatment of metastatic spinal lesions with a navigational bipolar radiofrequency ablation device: a multicenter retrospective study.
BACKGROUND Spinal metastatic lesions are a common occurrence among oncology patients and contribute to significant morbidity. Treatment options have been limited in their effectiveness and scope to this point. OBJECTIVE This study aims to report the safety and efficacy of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of malignant spinal lesions using a novel RFA bipolar tumor ablation system which includes a...
